✨Book Review:
In the beginning the way the story was written confused me. A few pages later I understood the intention of the writing style. Especially the crossed out sentences helped me to get a better feeling for Juliette‘s inner state of mind.
✨Juliette cannot be touched, because her touch is lethal. That‘s why she has been locked up for 264 days. Juliette counts everything. Days, Hours, Walls, Windows,… Numbers are very meaningful throughout the book, because they help Juliette not to lose her mind or connection with reality. And then Adam shows up...
✨Adam and Juliette know each other from school, but have never spoken. However, they have a deeper bond than you think, but not very authentic. Adam likes Juliette for her kindhearted nature and because she helps everyone, although no one ever says thank you — Juliette is so strong and has a strong will-power. She never gives up.
✨There is one more protagonist: Warner... on the one side he is kind of nice and vulnerable, but on the other side he is selfish and arrogant. He is literally obsessed with Juliette and is attracted to her in a strange way. That‘s why his intensions are not 100% clear to me yet — but neither are Adam’s… 🤔 However, the bond with Warner is more authentic.
✨Kenji was definitely my fave side character, but James was also very cute 🥰
✨I would have liked to know more about "The Reestablishment“, structure and relationships, but unfortunately it was only described superficially. The dystopia genre was not as well implemented (in my opinion).
➡️ Despite my criticism, I can definitely recommend „Shatter Me“. The tension built up very well towards the end of the book and it was also very entertaining.
I still have some questions and I hope they will be answered in the next book(s).
