The Indian Cowboy – the night of the wolves, author: Brita Rose Billert
Ryan Black Hawk is a young Lakota (member of the First - and very discriminated - Nations of the American continent). As many youngsters during their coming-of-age he started mischivously doing some wrongs as drinking too much cheap booze, smoking pot and car-racing. One day, totally drunken, his father taught him a lesson the hard way. Next day police came for interrogation as his friends of the boozing night died. This was the turning point in his young life.
Now Ryan wants to do good to his family. He started working with the military and he stopped abusing alcoholic drinks for ever. With new friends, some adventuries and even a love story he masters a new style of life. Ready to engage as a role model
A nice story written by a German about the US-American First Nations group of the Lakota and their life style (translated by a Swiss-German into English). Brita travels occasionally to the home grounds of the Lakota and learns about their life style. As a selfpublisher she wrote a couple of books about the Lakota hero Ryan Black Hawk.
As a Social Anthropologist I rather prefer that the First Nations themselves talk about their life. The book didn‘t meet my interest.
The Cover shows a jumping wolf. Below that fierce looking wolf the US-American flag decorates half of the cover page.
